FOTO WIEN and EMOP

Vienna is a founding member of the association European Month of Photography (EMOP). Started as a biennial called Eyes On, the festival was first held in 2004 and changed its name to FOTO WIEN in 2019. Once an insider event for Vienna’s lively photography scene, it is now Austria’s largest photography festival that looks back on twenty years of collective dedication. Its program is aimed at a broad audience of people interested in art and current events as well as professionals. The festival receives funding from the cultural department of the city of Vienna. From 2023 FOTO WIEN will be organized by FOTO ARSENAL WIEN, Austria’s new center of photography and lens-based media. This year the city celebrates its 10th edition.
